There are a number of accessory buildings nearby the main farm house. Each has been (or is) a project in itself. We start with the building of the replacement of one of the two original barns that, sadly, burned down over the last twenty years. It's nice to see a barn return on its original site. Next we have the "Old Shop". This was the building that held all the old dairy equipment to support the now-lost dairy barn. During the past 40 years, it has been used as the farm work shop. During the show house it wase used for the boutique, and afterwards became be Sue's office and the family archive. It has been renamed the "Athenaeum". Soon to be added to this category will be the old smoke house and the original heated, plastered out-house, the bull barn, and the old chicken coup. |
