Home Up Home Office Bathroom Sinks

I have a bunch of ongoing projects in my new home office.  We recently got cable broadband Internet connection and a wireless hub!  My day job is with the Institute for Defense Analyses where I'm presently working as chief architect for the DoD's Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (www.adlnet.org).  I work at home about 50% of the time and travel or go to the ADL CoLaboratory in Alexandria.

I finally finished the Civil War plantation desk that I started to restore 2 years ago.  Now it's back in service!  Walnut.  Had to pretty much take the whole thing apart, repair many sections, and refinish top to bottom.  It's just the right height and slant.

Below you can see my typical messy office, but what a view out the window (below right)!

Low Tech - High Touch: Blackboard Web Cam?

I found a real backboard in the barn that my father used to use, but sadly it had been broken in two.  I must have something to draw on in my office, and I always favored slate over white boards, so I laid the two pieces on a sheet of plywood and expoxyed and clamped them, Then took some leftover wood from the newly installed floor in the family room (heart pine) and made a new frame.

What's nifty is that my blackboard is now featured in many of my presentations - it's quicker to take a digital snapshot than draw it in power point!

Will add some more stuff soon.
